About
Collatorium is a reading room for manuscript archives: one place where every reading of a page — handwriting recognition, independent AI readers and human editors — can be compared, settled and kept, while the photographs and transcriptions stay in the team's own folders.
It began with transcription work on nineteenth-century correspondence and working papers, and takes its spirit from a line in the first published account of a programmable machine:
“The Analytical Engine weaves algebraical patterns just as the Jacquard-loom weaves flowers and leaves.”Ada Lovelace, Note A, 1843
